Mission Statement

The Incident Management Team is a nationally recognized consulting and training organization, specializing in pre-incident prevention, crisis management, and post-incident recovery.

The mission of the Incident Management Team is to collaborate with our client companies to improve their organizational systems and working environments through the prevention, control and resolution of workplace violence and conflict.

We will apply the following principles in accomplishing this mission.

Labor-Management Sensitivity

As a result of our extensive experience in labor-management settings, we acknowledge and respect the distinct roles, responsibilities, and objective of both parties.

Neutrality

IMT will maintain a neutral, external position as a facilitator and consultant. Our clients rely on us to bring “fresh eyes,” independent perspective to view, analyze, and propose solutions.

Open Forum

We apply our group facilitation and reconciliation skills to enable both parties to move beyond conflicting interests, and openly examine and define the current situation in terms of the underlying issues, perspectives, and needs of each group and sub-groups.

Immediate and Long-Term Solutions

We believe that conflict situations are just the tip of the iceberg-they are symptomatic of unresolved, deeper issues. Our objective is to not only develop consensus as to the scope of the current situation but also carefully examine it in terms of root causes and long-term solutions.

Continuous Improvement

We approach conflict situations as significant opportunities for growth and learning. Our intervention approach enables us to generate strategies and solutions so that all parties develop new knowledge and skills as a result of this difficult experience.
