About the event

About the Training:

The lone worker is one who is in their own community, home or isolated setting where they cannot be seen or heard by another person. They may go into the community for job-related work and they do not always have direct contact with a coworker or supervisor.

The lone worker includes, but is not limited to:

  • Hybrid/work-from-home workers in the COVID-19 "new normal"
  • Healthcare, social workers, public health nurses, aid workers and ministers
  • Utility workers, construction workers, real estate agents, building inspectors and sales personnel
  • Field workers, code enforcers, inspectors, temp agency workers and delivery drivers
  • Traveling personnel
  • Gas station attendants and convenience store personnel

This program will cover:

  • Risks of victimization in field settings
  • Situational awareness/victim avoidance
  • Recognizing Verbal and Non-Verbal Pre-attack behaviors
  • Developing a “Survival Mentality”
