About the Training:
Shootings at Michigan State University, Oxford High School, Walmart, FedEx, Las Vegas, malls and manufacturing facilities, have forced employers to review their crisis recovery plans after such acts of terror and violence.
This program will cover how to assess and reduce the impact of traumatic events on people, operations, litigation and brand name.
Photos of mass casualty scenes and interviews of survivors will be shown.
Seminar Content:
- Nature of mass-causality events, shootings and fatalities
- Program will discuss 9/11 terrorist attacks, school shootings, Postal Service shootings in Royal Oak and Dearborn, and manufacturing plants
- Human crisis reactions to traumatic events
- Stages of emotional, physical and psychological reactions, including stress continuum will be discussed (acute, traumatic stress, post-traumatic stress)
- Managing aftermath of a shooting event and recovery interventions
- Crisis intervention techniques, crisis team deployment, site logistics, victim triage, establishing crisis operations center, worker compensation reduction, command and control, follow up strategies, family support and incident closure
- Crisis communications
- Strategies to reach employees, stakeholders, public, and media
- Crisis Leadership
- Actions to stabilize organizational operations, improve morale and facilitate recovery during the aftermath, will be discussed

Dr. Kenneth Wolf has conducted violence prevention and threat assessment trainings for Fortune 500 companies and organizations like the United Auto Workers. Dr. Wolf helped crisis recovery teams at Ground Zero following the September 11 attacks, U.S. Post Office shootings and numerous worksite shootings and mass tragedies. Dr. Wolf designs workplace violence prevention programs, trains threat assessment teams, conducts active shooter survival training exercises, and designs crisis recovery programs.
